Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Does 2UMedical have an office?
The purpose of 2UMedical is to provide convenient, service oriented, healthcare brought to the patient at their time of need.  Our services help our patients avoid losing precious time from their busy schedules.

What happens when I request service from 2UMedical?
When you call 2UMedical, a health care professional will answer your call directly.  After questions are answered and service is deemed to be appropriate, an appointment will be scheduled for a provider to come 2U!

What happens during the visit?
After introductions, your provider will perform a history and physical examination appropriate for the problem, and will then offer treatment recommendation and options.  After all questions are answered, paper work completed, and instructions given, your provider will depart.  However, you will continue to have direct telephone access to your provider to answer follow up questions or needs that may arise.

Who can benefit from our services?

  • Anyone who desires urgent medical or specialty services in their office, residence, or suitable location for convenience.
  • Travelers and professionals.
  • Local residents who are on tight schedules.
  • Our services are also helpful for patients who are home-bound, visually impaired, mobility-challenged, elderly, and even agoraphobics.
  • Those who don't want to wait in crowded waiting rooms full of "sick" people.
  • Parents who don't want the inconvenience or expense of having to arrange childcare in order to have their urgent medical care needs met.
  • Patients who desire in-home post operative follow up.

What lab tests are available during the house call?
Point of care testing for strep A, mono, influenza, pregnancy, and urine dip analysis is provided for immediate result.  Blood tests that are routinely performed at the doctor's office, can also be drawn by 2UMedical.  We can also submit cultures of wounds, abscesses, urine, or stool.  Your provider will contact you with your lab results, per your preferred method of communication.

What if I need X-Rays, CT Scan, or MRI?
We have multiple locations that offer imaging services that we can guide our patients to.  The preliminary results will be given to your provider along with final report.  Your provider will contact you with the results and suggest the appropriate course of action.

What if I cancel my appointment?
If you cancel your appointment less than 24 hours from the scheduled time, a $50 cancellation fee will be incurred.

What if my Health Care Provider can't treat my problem?
If your problem is outside of our scope of practice, we will provide you an appointment with a board certified specialist within 48 hours.  If diagnostic tests are needed, we will consult with the specialist to begin your testing process.

Do you offer payment options?
Because house calls are focused and consuming, it is not financially feasible to offer these services at a discount.  However, with additional patients in the same location, 2UMedical will offer a $25 fee reduction per patient.

Do you accept insurance?
We will provide you with a form to submit to your insurance company if you request us to do so.  Payment is due at the time of service, yet our fees may be subtracted from your annual deductible or reimbursed at the out-of-network payer rate. Reimbursement will cover approved charges determined by each insurance provider.

Do you treat children?
We treat children age 12 years and older.  If a parent or legal guardian is not present, we must have written consent before treating children under the age of 18 years, and an adult must be present during the visit (such as nanny or grandparent).

Will you offer pediatric services in the future?
Yes!  Pediatric care is coming soon!
